The universities in Hamburg are aware that students with disabilities may face unique obstacles during the course of their studies. As such, special services are in place to ensure equal opportunities for all students. From accessible entrances to advising centres, the universities are well set up to help disabled students get the most out of their studies.  runs a social and international (BeSi) at Grindelallee 9, which is open to all students studying in Hamburg.

Universität Hamburg (UHH)

Universität Hamburg has special advising sessions and services for students with disabilities. This office provides support to disabled or chronically ill students at all stages of their studies. Other services offered by the RBCS include support with housing searches, answers to questions related to funding, and establishing contact to other advice units and support groups.

Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW)

°Õ³ó±ðÌý at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) offers students with disabilities and chronic illnesses information on financial support, adaptations of exam and study conditions, and entry requirements. HAW also hosts peer-to-peer support sessions. The representatives for  (German website only) are available to answer any questions and concerns, either during their office hours or by email.

Hamburg University of Technoglogy (TUHH)

Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) has several initiatives for students with disabilities. The ASTA student committee aims to represent all students at TUHH, including those with disabilities. Special disability representatives for staff and students may be contacted for all issues related to disability. Furthermore, TUHH strives to make its  barrier-free and accessible to all.

Other Universities

The other public universities in Hamburg also offer services for students with disabilities. The Hochschule für Musik und Theater has a representative council, and the Hochschule für Bildende Künste has  who can be reached by email.
