Prerequisites

• Main or secondary residence in a resident parking area
• Application is possible from the age of 16

Documents required

• valid identity card or passport with current registration certificate
• the registration certificate part I(vehicle registration document)

Additionally in case of extension:

• the previous resident parking permit

Additionally when applying by power of attorney:

• Power of attorney in original
• legible color copy of the principal’s ID card
• Identity card of the authorized person

Additionally for company cars:

• upon request by the LBV: company car confirmation from the employer

Additionally, if the applicant is not the vehicle owner:

• upon request by the LBV: confirmation of use by the vehicle owner

Please note

• The resident parking permit does not secure a specific parking space, but only allows permanent parking in the resident parking zone in which you are registered.
• A resident parking permit can only be issued for a specific vehicle (license plate number is entered in the resident parking permit).
• If you use third-party vehicles, rental vehicles or company vehicles, you also have the option of applying for a resident parking permit. Rental vehicles and changing company vehicles must be clearly identifiable as such (name of the respective company).
• Your resident parking permit must be displayed visibly in your vehicle! A resident parking permit is also required for motorcycles. Resident parking permits cannot be applied for for trailers as they are not motor vehicles.

• Visit our website to book an appointment (link below).
• Select the category: Resident parking
• Then select: New application / extension / change resident parking permit.
• Follow the steps to reserve an appointment.
• You will receive an email. Confirm your reserved appointment using the link in the email.
• You will receive an appointment confirmation. Bring this with you to your appointment.

The resident parking permit is limited to one year.

Extension of the resident parking permit


An extension is possible six weeks before the end of the validity period. If the resident parking permit has already expired, an extension is no longer possible. In this case, please apply for a new resident parking permit.

Procedure

The resident parking permit can be applied for online or by appointment on site.
online application

• You can apply for your resident parking permit yourself using the relevant online service.
• Please ensure that you enter your personal data correctly based on the spelling on your ID card. Otherwise, technical difficulties may occur.
• The system checks your application.
• If the system completes the check positively, you pay the fee via Paypal, credit card or Giropay.
• You can then print out your resident parking permit yourself.
• If there is a block on information in the residents' register, the online application cannot be used for security reasons. Please book an appointment with the LBV or HamburgService on site.

application on site

• Book an appointment online.
• Bring all necessary documents with you.
• Your request will be processed on site and the resident parking permit will be issued.

Processing time

The online application only takes a few minutes. After the online application, the resident parking permit can be printed out immediately at home.


If you apply on site, the resident parking permit will also be issued immediately if all documents are complete.

Fees

The fees for the initial application and renewal of a resident parking permit are EUR 65 online and EUR 70 at the LBV on site per year. The fee for changing the resident parking permit (in the event of a license plate change or moving to another resident parking zone) is EUR 10. In the event of loss or damage, a replacement document will be issued free of charge. The fees result from the Hamburg parking fee regulations.
