Education Package - School Supplies Reimbursement for Pupils (Benefit Beneficiaries Under 25)

Detailed description

Recipients of citizen money and social allowance (SGB II) can receive this benefit as part of the education package. School children are paid a subsidy totaling EUR 174 per year for learning materials, EUR 116 at the beginning of the school year (usually on August 1st) and EUR 58 at the beginning of the second half of the school year (usually on February 1st).

In addition to the school bag and sports equipment, personal school supplies also include writing, arithmetic and drawing materials such as fountain pens, crayons, compasses, set squares and erasers.

Expenditures for consumables that have to be bought regularly, such as exercise books, pencils and ink, are to be covered from the citizens' allowance or social allowance.

Prerequisites

  • Children under the age of 25 (or their parents) who receive benefits under SGB II (citizen's allowance / social benefit).
  • Attendance at a general or vocational school, including pre-school
  • no receipt of a training allowance

Documents required

For children under seven and over 15 years of age: Application (see link Application for school supplies - educational package) and school certificate (issued by the school)

Please note

The services for school requirements are requested from the job center.

No additional application is required for children between the ages of seven and 15. In these cases, the money is transferred automatically.

For children under seven and over 15 years of age, an application must be submitted with a school certificate (see link Application for school supplies - educational package) The receipts for the purchase of school materials must be kept and presented on request.

The previous regulation, according to which 100 euros were paid once at the beginning of the school year, no longer applies.

Procedure

The benefits for school supplies are applied for at the job center.
