European elections:
You have German citizenship or that of another EU member state.
You are at least 16 years old.
You have been living in Germany or another EU member state for at least 3 months.
Your right to vote was not taken away from you as a result of a court decision.
federal election:
You have German citizenship.
You are at least 18 years old.
You have been living in Germany for at least 3 months.
Your right to vote was not taken away from you as a result of a court decision.
state election:
You have German citizenship.
You are at least 16 years old.
You have been living in Hamburg for at least 3 months.
Your right to vote was not taken away from you as a result of a court decision.
District Assembly Election:
You have German citizenship or that of another EU member state.
You are at least 16 years old.
You have been living in Hamburg for at least 3 months.
Your right to vote was not taken away from you as a result of a court decision.

Under certain conditions, Germans living outside Germany on election day are also entitled to vote in federal and European elections. An application to be included in the electoral register must be submitted before each election.
