Detailed description

Supportive assistance in working life makes it easier for you as a severely disabled person to participate in working life. This support is intended to ensure that you as a severely disabled person are employed in jobs with equal rights, and that you can contribute and develop your skills and knowledge there. You can receive supportive assistance if you are employed, self-employed or a civil servant.
 
Accompanying assistance can be provided to you

  • as technical work aids.
  • to reach the workplace.
  • to establish and maintain an independent professional existence.
  • for the procurement, equipment and maintenance of a disability-accessible apartment.
  • to participate in measures to maintain and expand professional knowledge and skills.
  • in special life situations.
  • as covering the costs of necessary work assistance.
 

Information

Prerequisites

  • You have a severe disability.
  • You are employed, civil servant or self-employed.
    • Jobs also include positions where you work on a temporary basis or part-time for at least 15 hours.
  • They need support to overcome disadvantages in the labour market compared to people without disabilities.

Documents required

  • Application
  • employment contract, certificate of appointment or proof of self-employment
  • Notice of determination by the social security office regarding the recognized disability
  • severely disabled person's ID card or equal treatment certificate
  • If necessary, cost estimates
  • If applicable, certificate of viability for self-employment

Deadlines

You do not have to meet any deadlines. However, to ensure timely processing, you should submit your application at least 3 months before the planned action is to be carried out.

Procedure

  • You describe your request and send your application along with the required documents to the responsible authority.
  • The responsible body will examine your application. The responsible body will contact you for advice or further information.
  • If necessary, other bodies will be involved.
  • To clarify your exact performance, all parties involved may conduct an inspection of your workplace.
  • The responsible authority will decide on your application after determining your needs and will inform you of the decision in writing.
