You can have your blocked electronic proof of identity (online ID function) unblocked again.

Detailed description

If the electronic proof of identity (online ID function) has been blocked for your identity card, you can only have the blocking removed again in the Hamburg Service - Residents' Data Department.

Prerequisites

  • German within the meaning of Art. 116 Para. 1 Basic Law (GG)
  • Online ID function has been blocked
  • ID card was found

Documents required

  • identity card

Please note

  • Since 2017, the ID card has only been delivered with an activated eID.
  • The blocking hotline 116 116 is always available. It is free of charge from the German landline network.
    Charges may apply from the mobile network and from abroad.

  • You come personally with your identity card to the Hamburg Service - Department of Population Data

You can use this service at any Hamburg Service location, regardless of where you live.

Mon-Fri 7am-7pm, Sat 9am-4pm, visits are only possible by appointment. You can book an appointment online (https://www.¼«ËÙʱʱ²Ê/go/17584) or by phone at 040 115.

The location will be closed on May 7, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

You can take the required photo beforehand on a self-recording terminal (Speed Capture Terminal).
